ARTICATZ HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM
The heart of the Articatz Volleyball Club is the high school age program. Articatz Volleyball training is designed to provide the high school age volleyball player with the highest level of training available in our geographic area. That training revolves around a major emphasis on basic skills and technique development. We believe that it is this skills and technique development that will allow high school age volleyball players to excel in the sport of volleyball. We then transition this training into position specific training, offensive and defensive system training, and ultimately into game situation training and actual competition. The ultimate goal of this program is to provide our athletes with a competitive edge in furthering their volleyball playing career into collegiate athletics
Why Play Club?
Each player’s club volleyball experience differs, but club volleyball can help meet several goals:
1.) To improve skill level and experience
2.) To earn playing time in high school or to challenge starters
3.) To compete at a higher level than is typically available in high school
4.) To gain exposure to college coaches and programs
5.) To meet new friends and play with athletes whose goals are similar to your own
For the majority of athletes, playing club volleyball is a great way to improve skills, meet new friends, and have fun, all while participating in very competitive volleyball.
Hours of Practice Time It takes a long time and countless repetitions to master any skill involved in playing volleyball. Since high schools are limited to a short number of weeks for competition, it can be hard to obtain quality technical training. We offer quality training 2-3 nights a week, depending on the team. Due to the large number of hours spent in practice versus tournaments, our belief is that, as players and parents, you are paying for quality training time, not playing time in tournaments. Everyone will receive equal training time, and fair (not necessarily equal) playing time.
Competitive Tournament Play Many players find that club volleyball provides them with the best opportunities to play competitive volleyball against girls from across the country.
As players and parents, we ask you to recognize that the primary benefit to playing club is the amount of time spent in training. Tournament play is merely a supplement to practice hours. We do not guarantee equal playing time. Players who are disappointed with their playing time should speak with their coaches individually before or after practice. We will not speak with parents about this issue.
