FUNDRAISING PROGRAMS

ARTCATZ is looking at fundraising from two different perspectives this year.

Because our season is longer this year, we have the chance to let the girls participate in reducing overall club fees as well as working on their own individual fees.

FIRST, we are looking at some fundraising opportunities for the girls this year to help

defer the costs of tournaments, club fees and traveling expenses.

Econo Foods Receipt Program

We can earn 1% of all the receipts we collect throughout the year.  Econo will cut a check twice a year for what we have collected.  Because there are Econo Foods stores in a few different UP cities, most of the girls should be able to collect receipts and turn them in at practices.  I will be sure to have a collection box located at each practice.  Tell all of your family members to collect as well and the totals really do add up quickly.

Grocery Bagging day

In conjunction with the receipts program we are looking to set up a grocery bagging day or two in the MQT storeWe are hoping to set that up grocery bagging days in other stores as well, with help from the Area Parent Rep.  The girls will bag groceries for customers for tips of cash and/or the customers’ receipts If your local area doesn't have an Econo store, maybe your local grocer would allow the girls to bag groceries for tips on a Saturday morning.

Grocery Bagging dates:

February 23rd Econo Marquette

(please make sure that you can be available)

- more information will follow with email from Diane Stacey

My Sports Dream Fundraising Campaign

We are lucky to be able utilize the nation's leading sports fundraising company helping us continue the goal of allowing young girls to have the opportunity to participate in the Articatz Club Program.  We want to reach out to people who have a rooting interest in your (the players) success as a volleyball player and person.  Your fans (relatives and close friends) will receive an important letter from our team.  The letter will update them on our progress and goals.

This program has "3 Easy Steps"

1.) Require athletes to complete their worksheets (handed out at practice ~ March 28-April11)

* the worksheets will be DUE April 14th at practice

2.) Launch Meeting ~ April 21st 6:30pm

* we will be filling out the envolopes and writing our note on our mailer

3.) Coaches supervise the Launch Meeting

*Coach will mail the letters

Everyone on your list can save lots of money with over 150 discounts each month at popular stores and hotels.

Area Can drives

We are also looking at holding can drives in each area We need to have the Area Parent Rep to step up and take on this taskWe can set them up for just about anytime that works for the girls in your location.   Most radio stations etc will make the announcement that your girls are going to be collecting and what date and times.   Ideally we would like all the collection dates for the different areas to be the same, but that is not necessarily set in stoneIf you are a larger area, like Marquette, maybe two collections, dividing the girls in half might be an optionOr having different areas of the city being picked up on the same day by dividing the girls into two groupsThese are all details we can work out as the season starts.

Secondly, We are also looking at Fundraising opportunities that can benefit each girl directly

and help them pay for their club fees.

Raffle

Normally we raffle off a 4 wheeler.  A great prize!  However, this year, we want to try and make it even easier for the girls to sell tickets by adding additional items for raffle. We will also be selling for a longer period of time this year, which should help EVERY girl. Any donations we can get for merchandise or gift certificates would be great. Talk to your local business people and see what kind of donations we can get.

Because we are so widespread, it would be great to have a few items donated by each area.

Having an Area Parent Rep to take this project on in areas outside of Marquette,

would be greatly appreciated!

Each girl is required to sell a pre-determined amount of tickets.  Every ticket sold above and beyond the required amount is a 50/50 split between the club and playerWe have had several girls make LARGE dents in their club/tournament fees with this projectWith the addition of the extra prizes this year, we will have even more girls be able to use this opportunity to help them outWe will be setting up selling opportunities with local merchants in the area to give all the girls a chance to get out with a group and sell.

Raffle Ticket Sales at the West Wood Mall:

April 12th

April 26th (Maquette & Escanaba)

May 3rd

May 17th ~ last chance to see tickets

TICKETS DUE BEFORE OR ON MAY 22nd

Business Sponsorship Program

Another opportunity for the girls to defer the costs of their club fees is by getting people to become ARTICATZ sponsors or having them become Articatz Booster member

Tracy will provide the girls with sponsorship formsThe girls can try and get family, friends, and local businesses to become a ARTICATZ sponsor at several different levels and the sponsorship amount goes directly to the individual girls club fees.

A third option for working toward their club fees is by working ARTICATZ eventsWhen an event comes up, workers are often needed for help at those events, such as working concession stands, etcThese events occur mostly in the off season (such as the Varsity and JV Tournaments held at the W).  We send out emails before these events, so it is very important that we have an email address for all the girls, so everyone gets the opportunity to help out.
